Hand sketching first designs of user interfaces is quicker and easier than creating them with a form builder. We also feel less committed to a hand-drawn design than a formal diagram that looks 'finished'. Because we are less committed we are more likely to explore a variety of ideas and change the design.

Freeform2 provides a pen based interface for drawing user interface forms and then then interacting with the design while it is rendered as a sketch. Freeform runs as a Visual Basic 6 add-in and can recognise the sketched form components and convert them into a VB form.
