Welcome

The Second International Conference on Unconventional Models of Computation will take place at the Solvay Institute in Brussels, Belgium, from December 13 to December 16, 2000. It is being organized jointly by the Centre for Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science, in Auckland, New Zealand, and the Solvay Institute.

The conference encompasses all areas of unconventional computation, especially quantum computing, DNA-based computation, evolutionary algorithms and other proposals for computation models that go beyond the Turing model.

The UMC2K proceedings will be published by Springer Verlag, London, in the DMTCS Series, and will be made available during the conference.

Invited Speakers are:
  • L. Accardi (Rome, Italy),
