Coded Modulation | Data Compression and Source Coding
Communication Systems | Optical Communications
Detection and Estimation | Mobile Communications
Spread Spectrum Systems | Pattern Recognition and Learning
Signal Processing | Speech/Image Coding
Rate-Distortion Theory | Shannon Theory
Stochastic Processes | Cryptology and Data Security
Data Networks | Applications of Information Theory
Multi-User Information Theory | Quantum Information Processing |
Papers were selected on the basis of an extended summary. The deadline for submission was 23:59, May 7, 2008, GMT. Notification of decisions was made at the end of July 2008. The accepted papers (not exceeding 6 pages) will appear in the Proceedings and on IEEExplore.
Registration is now open. You may register for ISITA2008 via the link on the left using Visa or Mastercard, telegraphic transfer, or bank draft (a small additional fee will apply for non-card payment). The registration fees will be NZ$700/NZ$470 for regular/student participants registering before September 7, 2008. Thereafter, the fees will increase to NZ$770/NZ$540 for regular/student registration. If you need an invitation letter for immigration purposes, this can be requested with your registration and will be available to paid-up participants only who are either authors of accepted papers or otherwise recognized members of the Information Theory research community.
Auckland, the City of Sails, is the gateway to New Zealand, one of the world's top outdoor paradises. It is located on both Tasman Sea and Pacific and boasts countless beaches, a vibrant cosmopolitan culture, and excellent cuisine and wines. It is connected to many major cities in Asia, Australia, South America and the USA by direct airline flights. At the time of ISITA2008, it will be late spring in Auckland and the pohutukawa (New Zealand Christmas Trees) should be in full crimson flower.
