So you are a security professional, what
next?
So we are security professionals,
but we weren’t always one. This presentation is based on my personal experience
and on interviews with various security professionals. The presentation will
aim to share our experiences on how we got here, what we love about our jobs,
and the challenges we face as part of our jobs; To give advice to potential
security professionals on how to gear themselves up for the security
profession; Provide security professionals with some helpful tips, and provide
ideas on educating next generation of security professionals.

IT, Software, Telecommunications and Security industry for the last 8 years.
He is the Information Security Analyst at Telecom New Zealand, having gone
through Telecom New Zealand’s graduate programme and their 24x7 Security Operations
Centre (SOC). He brings fresh insights into
his view of the security world, and his vision for the future of the security
