Information Security - The oxymoron that defined an industry?
Outsourcing information
security has become a popular option for many businesses. Outsourcing is often
seen as a more cost effective way of delivering security, but, like every
emergent technology or business re-engineering, it is not without security
implications.
This
presentation examines some common methods of outsourcing information security,
some common pitfalls and how these might be addressed.

Simon's passion
for information security was unlocked more than a decade ago when the Internet
Service Provider he was working for was subjected to an attack.
This focus has
lead to a variety of customer facing and internal security roles with
consultancies, integrators, telecommunications providers and media
organisations.
Simon actively
participates in the security community, having contributed to NIST standards
and the Information Security Interest Group forums.
