The Piha Valley Walk is a relaxing 2 hour stroll close to Piha beach in the Waitakere Ranges (30min drive from Auckland City).
We started at the Stedfast Park Camp and walked up the McKenzie valley and along the Maungaroa Ridge to the Look out rock (108).
The Start of the track.
Secondary forrest on the way up to McKenzie junction.
Form the top of the Maungaroa Ridge there are beautiful views of the Piha valley.
Piha beach is very popular with surfers, but swimming can be dangerous because of underwater currents.
A bunch of happy trampers on the look-out rock (#108 on the map) :-)
On the way down from the look-out rock we saw this interestingly shaped tree truck.
Clouds
Flowers in the sand dunes.
