The
Graphics Group (GG) at the University of Auckland is a research group
within the Computer Science Department, with ties to other groups
in medicine and engineering. The group's activities cover a range
of research areas, including physically-based animation techniques,
image-based rendering, geometric modelling, and volume visualization
algorithms. While algorithmic efficiency is always an issue in computer
graphics, the focus of research by the GG is usually on the quality
of the models or images and their physical or mathematical
correctness, rather than on raw speed.
